By David SalazarNathan Felix’s “Glory Gone” will get a performance at the Radius Center in San Antonio on March 1, 2025.
The showcase will feature soprano Kathryn Piña as Gloria the Pop Singer, tenor Kevin Arratia-Diaz as The Obsessed Photographer, mezzo-soprano Olivia Gronenthal as The Super Fan, soprano Fabiola Quezada as News Reporter Vivian Loder, and soprano Jenna Winslow as the Music Agent.
The story follows Gloria, a renowned Hispanic singer who overcame poverty to achieve national fame by breaking into the American mainstream. After a performance, she is brutally attacked by a jealous and obsessed photographer. Left in critical condition and placed on life support, Gloria fights to survive as fans rally together, appearing on live television to plead for the nation’s prayers. Though she pulls through, her recovery is overshadowed by deep despair—her once-pristine voice silenced by the scars on her neck. Struggling with her self-worth, identity, and purpose, Gloria spirals into anger and resentment. Consumed by the injustice of her shattered dreams, she begins to plot a ruthless act of revenge against the man who stole her future.
The performance of “Glory Gone” kicks off at 7 p.m. local time.
