Metropolitan Opera Announces Cast Change for ‘Aida’

By Francisco Salazar

The Metropolitan Opera has announced cast change for its upcoming performances of “Aida.”

The company said, “for all remaining fall performances of Verdi’s ‘Aida,’ the title role will be sung by Michelle Bradley, replacing Latonia Moore, who has withdrawn due to illness.”

The news comes after Moore sang the first performance of the run.

Bradley was already scheduled to perform the role this spring at the Met. She has sung the title role of “Aida” at the San Diego Opera to great acclaim and will also sing it at the Tulsa Opera and Fort Worth Opera this season.

Bradley will join a cast that includes Anita Rachvelishvili, Olesya Petrova, Brian Jagde, Luca Salsi, Christian Van Horn, and George Gagnidze. The fall run ends on Jan. 7.
