By Francisco Salazar

The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra has announced three new musicians to the ensemble.

The orchestra announced the news via social media and welcomed Principal Harp Hannah Copes, Assistant Principal Double Bass Andrew Gantzer, and Second Horn David Alexander.

In a statement, Cope said, “I’m elated to be joining the fabulous Met Opera Orchestra.  It is a joy to make music alongside colleagues who display exceptional artistry.

Gantzer added, “My name is Andrew Gantzer and I am a bass player who recently graduated from The Juilliard School. I’m excited to join the Met Orchestra because as a long-time opera enjoyer, I’m thrilled to be able to play the works I love by composers such as Puccini, Verdi, and Wagner.

Alexander said, “I’m David Alexander, a horn player and recent alum of the New World Symphony and The Juilliard School. After watching and admiring the Metropolitan Opera for years, I am delighted to join the orchestra this season.
