Matthew Polenzani, Christian Gerhaher & Issachah Savage Lead Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s 2023-24 Season

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2023-24 season.

For the purposes of this article, here is a look at the vocal performances of the season.

Jaap van Zweden conducts Christian Gerhaher in a program that includes Shekhar, Mahler, and Beethoven.

Performance Dates: Oct. 12-15, 2023

The Vienna Boys Choir is set to perform a Christmas concert.

Performance Date: Nov. 25, 2023

A Chanticleer Christmas is set to be performed.

Performance Dates: Dec. 5 & 6, 2023

Sir Andrew Davis conducts Händel’s “Messiah” with Joélle Harvey, Jennifer Johnson Cano, Matthew Polenzani, and John Relyea.

Performance Dates: Dec. 21-23, 2023

James Conlon conducts Mendelssohn’s “Elijah” with Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha, Ashley Dixon, Issachah Savage, and Lucas Meachem.

Performance Dates: April 11-13, 2023

Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts Mahler’s Symphony No. 2  with soloists Mari Eriksmoen and Karen Cargill.

Performance Dates: May 23-25, 2023
