Marquee TV Releases Opera Philadelphia’s ‘Soldier Songs’

Marquee TV has announced that Opera Philadelphia’s “Soldier Songs” is now streaming on its platform.

The new addition comes in time for Veteran’s Day. The operatic film is David T. Little’s exploration of the Soldier’s life and is based on interviews with veterans of five wars.

The piece originally premiered on Opera Philadelphia Channel and is directed and stars baritone Johnathan McCullough.

In a recent interview with McCullough, the baritone noted, “Whenever I work as a singer/actor in a show, my focus is not only on my performance but the bigger picture as well. I love to think about how all the pieces fit together to create a production. I used that same mindset to transition to director which made it a little less daunting of an experience. I grew up in LA visiting sound stages that my dad was working on as a child and later would frequently visit Universal Studios Hollywood theme park. The backstage tour had always been a favorite of mine.”

Marquee TV also announced that it has just released the Royal Opera House’s “Die Zauberflöte” in David McVicar’s classic production which embraces both the seriousness and comedy of Mozart’s work.
