Mariusz Kwiecień, Marina Rebeka, Federica Lombardi & Lisette Oropesa Headline Wiener Staatsoper Streaming Slate

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced the next slate of operas that it will be presenting on its streaming platform over the next week.

The broadcasts will focus on operatic masterworks of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

First up is the new production of “Le Nozze di Figaro” which will get two broadcasts during the week. The showcase stars Andrè Schuen, Federica Lombardi, Philippe Sly, Louise Alder, and Virginie Verrez. Philippe Jordan conducts the production by Jean-Pierre Ponnelle. The opera was filmed on Feb. 4, 2021.

Streaming dates: Feb. 7, 2021 at 7 p.m. CET, & Feb. 11, 2021 at 7 p.m. CET

Next up is “Don Giovanni” with Mariusz Kwiecien, Erwin Schrott, Marina Rebeka, Juliane Banse, and Benjamin Bruns. Ádám Fischer conducts the production by Jean-Louis Martinoty. The opera was filmed on Nov. 1, 2015.

Streaming date: Feb. 9, 2021 at 7 p.m. CET

The company will then broadcast the production of “La Clemenza di Tito.” The opera spotlights Benjamin Bruns, Caroline Wenborne, Margarita Gritskova, Hila Fahima, and Miriam Albano. Ádám Fischer conducts the production by Jürgen Flimm. The opera was filmed on April 4, 2016.

Streaming date: Feb. 10, 2021 at 7 p.m. CET

Mozart’s timeless singspiel “Die Zauberflöte” features Benjamin Bruns, Olga Bezsmertna, Íride Martínez, Markus Werba, and Annika Gerhards. Ádám Fischer conducts the production by Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier. The opera was filmed on Jan. 4, 2015.

Streaming date: Feb. 12, 2021 at 7 p.m. CET

The production of “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” will end the weekly slate. The showcase stars Lisette Oropesa, Christian Nickel, Regula Mühlemann, Emanuela von Frankenberg, Stella Roberts, Daniel Behle, Michael Laurenz, Christian Natter, Ludwig Blochberger, and Goran Jurić. Antonello Manacorda conducts the production by Hans Neuenfels. The opera was filmed on Oct. 12, 2020.
