
Marin Alsop Leads Highmark Mann in 50th Anniversary Celebration

For its 2026 season, Highmark Mann Center for the Performing Arts celebrates its 50th anniversary at Fairmount Park.

Highmark Mann’s newly commissioned oratorio, “A Hundred Years On” by Peter Boyer and Mark Campbell celebrates the 1876 Centennial Exposition, which took place in Fairmount Park. Soloists include sopranos Mary Dunleavy, Meredith Lustig, mezzo-soprano Eve Gigliotti, tenor David Portillo, and baritone Malcolm J. Merriweather. They are joined by The Crossing led by Donald Nally and the Philadelphia Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Parnther. Tazewell Thompson is the stage director. Projections are by Rasean Davonté Johnson and Millie Hiibel is the costume designer.

Marin Alsop leads The Philadelphia Orchestra in a program honoring the Center’s opening night in 1976. Works by Beethoven, Ravel, and Holst are presented. Soloists are to be announced.
