Soprano María Bayo has received the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in France.

Bayo is a Spanish soprano who has performed at the Salzburg Festival, Teatro alla Scala, Berlin Staatsoper, Teatro Real, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Wiener Staatsoper, Paris Opera, Théâtre du Chatelet, Royal Opera House, the Metropolitan Opera House, and Gran Teatre del Liceu.

The soprano has also received numerous awards throughout her career including the National Music Prize of Spain, the Príncipe de Viana Prize, the Eusko Ikaskuntza Prize, and the Cadenas de Navarra Award.
