Marc Blitzstein’s ‘Paraola and Circula’ to Get World Premiere in Berlin

On Sept. 21, Marc Blitzstein’s “Parabola and Circula” will get its world premiere in a concert performance at the Berlin Philharmonie.

The showcase will be presented by the Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung and the Berliner Festspiele / Musikfest Berlin.

Karl-Heinz Steffens, Artistic Director of the “Bauhaus Music” project and Chief Conductor of the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, will lead the performance, which will star Aleksander Nohr, Mari Eriksmoen, Hanna Husáhr, Linard Vrielink, Matthew Newlin, Henning von Schulman, and Hongni Wu.

The one-act opera will be recorded by Deutschlandfunk Kultur, and the world premiere recording will be showcased for the first time on Sept. 25, 2025.

Also on the program will be Leonard Bernstein’s “The Age of Anxiety” with pianist Tzimon Barto.
