Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Announces Conductor Change for ‘La Traviata’

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino has announced a conductor change for its production of “La Traviata.”

The company said, “We inform the kind public that all of the performances of “La Traviata” will be conducted by the maestro Renato Palumbo.” Palumbo will replace the originally announced Roberto Abbado.

Palumbo has conducted at many of the leading theaters including Teatro alla Scala, Paris Opéra, Royal Opera House, Wiener Staatsoper, Rossini Opera Festival, Arena in Verona, and Deutsche Oper Berlin. ”

“La Traviata” is set to be directed by Stefania Grazioli and will star Carolina López Moreno and Julia Muzychenko as Violetta, Giovanni Sala, Matheus Pompeu, Lodovico Filippo Ravizza, and Min Kim.
