‘Maestro’ Nominated for Seven Academy Awards

Bradley Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein biopic “Maestro” has earned seven Academy Award nominations.

The film obtained nominations for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay. Additionally, it was nominated for Best Makeup, Best sound and Best Cinematography category.

The nominations come after a successful awards season which saw nominations at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards and BAFTA awards.

“Maestro” chronicles the lifelong relationship of conductor-composer Leonard Bernstein and actress Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein.  Yannick Nézet-Séguin collaborated on the film while Isabel Leonard and Rosa Feola make appearances performing Mahler’s Symphony No. 2.

The film will compete for the Best Picture award with “Anatomy of a Fall,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Past Lives,” “The Zone of Interest,” “Barbie,” “The Holdovers,” “Poor Things,” “American Fiction,” and “Oppenheimer.”
