Madison Lyric Stage Announces 2025 Season

Here is a look at the operatic offerings.
The company will present Peter Shaffer’s “Amadeus,” a reimagining of the lives of Antonio Salieri and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The play, brought to life with the music of Mozart, is a tale of jealousy and betrayal…and perhaps even murder. The play originally opened on broadway and won the 1981 Tony Award for Best Play, as well as the 1985 Academy Award for Best Picture.
Performance dates: July 18-August 3, 2025
The company will also present Giancarlo Menotti’s “The Medium.” The work tells the story of a phony psychic Madame Flora who uses her clients’ grief to deceive them. But one night, an uncanny encounter leads to murder and madness. The evening will include three additional works of murder and the occult, including Poulenc’s “The Human Voice.”
Performance Dates: Sept. 19-21, 2025
