Lyric Opera of Orange County will reprise its 2023 production of  Jake Heggie’s “Two Remain.”

Bass Phil Meyer and Soprano Diana Farrell take on the main roles of Gad Beck and Krystyna Zywulska. They are joined by sopranos Yewon Ella Yoon, Kiana Hamzehi, and Alexandra Burdick; mezzo-soprano Kathryn Krasovec; and baritone Michael O’Halloran. Kristin Roach conducts and Scott Skiba directs.

The opera is sung in English with English supertitles made available. Gene Scheer’s libretto tells the story of Holocaust survival and aftermath, is based on the journals of Krystyna Zywulska and Gad Beck, two Holocaust survivors.

The Huntington Beach Central Library Theatre hosts “Two Remain,” the first of the new music performances taking place at the inaugural California Festival on Nov. 3 and 4.

Later this season, the Lyric Opera of Orange County will present Ethel Smyth’s “Fête Galante” and Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel.”
