The Choralspace Festival has announced a performance of Haydn’s “The Creation” at the Großer Saal of the Berliner Philharmonie on June 14.

Soprano Lucy De Butts, tenor Christoph Eder, and bass-baritone Simon Robinson star as the vocal soloists. Joining them is the Choralspace Festival Choir and the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg under conductor Sergi Gili Solé.

“Haydn’s ‘Schöpfung’ remains one of the most important and fascinating pieces in the oratorio repertoire,” Eder told OperaWire. “With a masterful balance of great choirs, intimate solo passages and a colourful orchestration it marks the pinnacle of his work as a composer. We hope that audience members will be inspired by the sight and sound of over 800 enthusiasts choristers from all over the globe who are coming together from 18 countries to realize this project together.”

The showcase kicks off at 3:30 p.m. local time.
