CHORALSPACE to Present Dvořák’s ‘Stabat Mater’
By Afton MarkayCHORALSPACE has announced that it will present Antonín Dvořák’s “Stabat Mater” as part of its 2026 Passion season.
The 360° Choir, which features singers from around the world, will perform under the baton of Marion Wood. In addition, participating choirs will be able to bring their own repertoire and do solo showcases connecting with other international choirs in our church concerts.
“Stabat Mater” was composed following the lose of Dvořák’s three children. The deeply felt sorrow woven into the music makes it an emotionally stirring experience for performers and audience alike. The work written for the concert hall premiered in 1880. It is scored for a large choir, four soloists, full orchestra, and organ.
The project is held March 28 – 31, 2026. The final concert will take place on March 31, in the Chamber Music Hall of the Philharmonie Berlin.
