Berlin-based International Academy for Choral Arts, CHORALSPACE, has announced a series of upcoming spring and summer 2022 events.

First up, CHORAL CELEBRATIONS @BerlinPhil will present Händel’s “Coronation Anthems,” led by Simon Carrington at the Philharmonie Berlin. The concert, featuring 200 participants from seven European countries, will be a hybrid event enabling those who aren’t in Berlin or wish to remain in their homes to collaborate with the Stay at Home Choir.

Performance Dates: March 6, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. local time.

Next up, in April, Rundfunkchor Berlin and CHORALSPACE will host QUO VADIS CHORAL MUSIC 2022, a three-day conference during which choral professionals can meet, network, and promote their projects. Registration is now open.

Conference Dates: April 21-24, 2022

In June, choirs from the United States and Europe will come together for the premiere edition of CHORALSPACE Summer Festival 2022. Applications are now open for those who wish to participate and perform at some of Berlin’s top venues. Applicants may choose to join a Showcase Concert, a Cluster Project, and Exchange Program, or involvement in the production of “Carmina Burana” at Philharmonie Berlin’s big hall June 22-26. Additionally, CHORALSPACE will inspire and enable new ways of choral collaboration with CHORAL ENCOUNTERS to be held as part of the Festival in Berlin, June 19-26.
