The Macerata Opera Festival is scheduled to open its concert performances of “Il Trovatore” on July 25.

The performances of Verdi’s masterpiece at the historical Sferisterio arena in Italian will star Roberta Mantegna, Veronica Simeoni, Luciano Ganci and Massimo Cavalletti. The performances will be conducted by Vincenzo Milletari.

This will mark the second production of the summer season, which began on July 18 with a production of “Don Giovanni,” which stars Mattia Oliveri in the title role.

The Macerata Opera Festival has announced the 2021 season, which is set to include a new production of “Aida,” a new production of “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” and a revival of “La Traviata.” Casts will be announced at a later date.
