Louise Alder To Star Alongside Mozartists in Wigmore Hall & Lichfield Festival

By David Salazar

The Mozartists are set to appear at the Lichfield Festival and Wigmore Hall for performances on July 8 and 9, 2019.

The performances will feature soprano Louise Alder as she performs such pieces as “O temerario Arbace… Per quell paterno amplesso” and “Se il padre perdei,” among other arias.

The concert will also showcase hornist Gavin Edwards, and flautist Katy Bircher and harpist Oliver Wass in the Mozart concert for Flute and Harp, K. 299. Among the other pieces performed are the Symphony No. 1 in E flat major and the Symphony No. 10 in G major.

“Mozart’s career provides a supreme demonstration of the value and benefits of cultural exchange, and the time that he spent in such important musical cities as London, Paris, Milan and Naples provided him with a depth and breadth of education that he could never have received by remaining at home in Salzburg,” noted Conductor and Artistic Director Ian page in a press release. “This concert explores the range of subtly different musical cultures for which Mozart composed, and will I hope provide a varied and enjoyable cross-section of his extraordinary career. We’re also delighted to have been invited to make our Lichfield Festival début with this program.”
