The Los Angeles Children’s Chorus (LACC) is set to headline “Looking Back, Looking Forward” on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
The ensemble will perform as part of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s “Sounds About Town” concert series. Artistic Director Ana Alicia Malvar-Ruiz conducts the Chamber Singers, Chorale, Concert Choir, and Combined Choirs, with Fred Meads leading the Intermediate Choir and Eric Lifland conducting both the Apprentice Choir and the Young Men’s Ensemble.
The program features works by Bach, Händel, Verdi, Schubert, and Rachmaninoff alongside folk traditions from across the globe and works by Allister MacGillivray.
The concert represents a high point in the ensemble’s year-long 40th anniversary celebration. Founded in 1986 with just 50 singers recruited for a single performance of Britten’s “War Requiem” alongside the William Hall Chorale, LACC now serves more than 500 children ages 6–18 annually from over 40 communities across Southern California.
“The Los Angeles Philharmonic has been one of LACC’s most ardent community partners since our inception,” said Malvar-Ruiz, per an official press release. “We are deeply grateful to the LA Phil for championing our young singers over the past four decades.”
