Los Angeles Children’s Chorus Announces 2025 Edition of ‘Every Child Sings’

The Grammy Award-winning Los Angeles Children’s Chorus (LACC) will present its annual benefit concert “Every Child Sings” on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

Starting at 7 p.m. at Zipper Hall at the Colburn School in downtown Los Angeles, this year’s event will pay tribute to LACC’s Young Men’s Ensemble, which provides boys with changing voices the opportunity to continue their vocal training during their transition.

Founded 15 years ago, the Young Men’s Ensemble was established under the leadership of then Executive Director Rachel Fine and Artistic Director Emerita Anne Tomlinson. Dr. Steven Kronauer, the ensemble’s founding conductor, continues to lead the group today.

Artistic Director Fernando Malvar-Ruiz and Kronauer will conduct four of LACC’s choral ensembles during the evening, including a special spotlight on the Young Men’s Ensemble’s evolution over the years. The concert will also celebrate the choir’s role in offering vital opportunities for boys to pursue choral music through the vocal transition, a previously underserved segment of young singers.

“We are delighted to honor our own Young Men’s Ensemble, which has served hundreds of choristers since it was established 15 years ago,” said Executive Director Susan Miller Kotses, per an official press release. “It provides a vital opportunity for boys to nurture their vocal talent and pursue choral studies at LACC, which is considered one of the nation’s finest institutions for young singers. Prior to the ensemble’s creation, boys who ‘graduated’ from LACC’s treble choir when their voices changed had no option for continuing their music studies here.”

Proceeds from Every Child Sings will be used to support LACC’s award-winning music education programs and its need-based scholarship fund.

The 2024 edition of the event took place on April 12, 2024.
