By Francisco Salazar

Lise Davidsen is set to present a recital for Vocal Arts DC on March 19.

The virtual concert will showcase the soprano alongside pianist James Baillieu in selections by Johannes Brahms, Edvard Grieg, and Richard Strauss. The recital will also feature Robert Schumann’s “Gedichte der Königin Maria Stuart” and Jean Sibelius’ “Luonnotar.”

The performance was recorded at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama and will stream via Vocal Arts DC’s website through March 30.

Davidsen is one of today’s most sought-after soprano who has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Bayreuth, Aix-en Provence, Royal Albert Hall, and the Zurich Opera House. She recently released her first album dedicated to Strauss for Decca Classics and is set to release her second CD, which will showcase the soprano in works by Verdi and Wagner.
