Lise Davidsen Leads ‘Der Rosenkavalier’ at the Metropolitan Opera

The Metropolitan Opera is set to perform Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier” with Lise Davidsen returning to the Met stage.

The opera, which will be showcased seven times between March 27 and April 20, will also feature mezzo-soprano Samantha Hankey in her house role debut as Octavian, Soprano Erin Morley as Sophie, and bass Günther Groissböck as Baron Ochs.

Maestro Simone Young, returning to the Met after 25 years, leads a cast that also features tenor René Barbera as the Italian Singer, mezzo-soprano Katharine Goeldner as Annina, tenor Thomas Ebenstein as Valzacchi, and baritone Brian Mulligan as Faninal. Tenor Kang Wang appears as the Italian Singer on April 7.

Robert Carsen’s elegant production from 2017 will be on the Live in HD series on April 15 and will be broadcast on March 27, April 4, and 15 on Metropolitan Opera Radio on SiriusXM channel 355.
