Lidia Fridman Replaces Yolanda Auyanet in ‘Lucrezia Borgia’ in Budapest

Müpa Budapest has announced a cast change for its Nov. 18 performance of “Lucrezia Borgia.”

The company noted that due to illness Yolanda Auyanet will not perform the title role and will be replaced by Lidia Fridman.

Fridman took social media stating, “Wishing a very quick recovery to the amazing colleague, I announce my debut tomorrow in Müpa theatre in Budapest, with a ‘Lucrezia Borgia’ conducted by Maestro Andriy Yurkevych. I just arrived in Hungary and can’t wait to meet my companions for this adventure.”

Fridman previously performed the role of “Lucrezia Borgia” in Trieste. She recently performed a new production of “Aroldo” at the Teatro Amintore Galli.

The soprano joins a cast that includes Gábor Bretz, Cecilia Molinari, and Stefan Pop.

Auyanet returns to the semi-staged production on Nov. 20, 2021.
