Libero Canto Presents ‘Salve mater fons amoris’
By Afton WootenLibero Canto is set to present two performances of “Salve mater fons amoris” (Hail Mother, Fountain of Love).
Soprano Kinga Cserjési, mezzo-soprano Deborah Carmichael, and contralto Sandra Goodman perform Scarlatti’s “Salve Regina” (Hail Mary), followed by a Trio Sonata in G Major by composer and nun, Isabella Leonarda, and Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater” (the Mother was Standing). The concert is performed on period instruments with Caitlyn Koester at the organ.
The first concert is held at the St. Ignatius of Antioch Episcopal Church on Oct. 14 at 5 p.m. The final concert can be heard at the Church of St. Monica on Oct. 22 at 3 p.m.
Tickets to the event are by on site donation to support the Morocco Earthquake Response Fund.
