Lester Lynch & Laurel Semerdjian Headline Florentine Opera’s 2019-20 Season

Florentine Opera has announced its 2019-20 season, which will include three operas and an artist showcase.

The first opera of the season will be Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” featuring the debuts of Calvin Griffin in the title role, Abigail Levis as Cherubino, and Alisa Calvin as the Countess, Ariana Douglas as Susanna, and Alexander Dobson as the Count. Shawna Lucey directs the productions with Clinton Smith conducting the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.

Performance Dates: Oct. 11 & 13, 2019

Baumgartner Studio Artist Showcase will feature young artists as they give glimpse into their professional futures by singing the repertoire that truly makes their voices shine.

Performance Dates: Feb. 8 & 9, 2020

Laurel Semerdjian stars in the title role of “The Tragedy of Carmen” alongside Luis Alejandro Orozco as Escamillo. The new production is directed by Eugenia Arsenis and is conducted by Christopher Rountree.

Performance Dates: March 13-22, 2020

Lester Lynch sings the title role in Verdi’s “Macbeth” alongside Mary Elizabeth Williams in the role of Lady Macbeth. Aaron Short rounds out the cast as Macduff in a production by John de los Santos. Joseph Mechavich conducts the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
