Leeds Opera Festival Announces its 2021 Season Featuring Holst

The Northern Opera Group has announced the 2021 Leeds Opera Festival.

This year’s iteration will place a focus on the works of Gustav Holst. The festival will take place throughout Leeds and Northern England.

The season will be dedicated to Gustav Holst and will open with a double bill of the composer’s  “At the Boar’s Head” and“Savitri.” Meeta Raval sings the title role in “Savitri” with tenor Kamil Bien and bass Julian Close. Emma Black directs and Lewis Gaston conducts.

Performance Dates: August 27 & 28, 2021

The festival will also include a traveling production “The Wandering Scholar” starring Eugene Dillon Hooper, Roger Paterson, Juliet Montgomery, and Aidan Edwards. Jim Osman directs and David Ward conducts. Locations are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
