‘Lamb of God’ Concert to be Presented at the Metropolitan Opera
By Francisco SalazarA concert by the name of “Lamb of God” is set to be presented at the Metropolitan Opera.
The concert, which is presented in partnership with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be shown on March 30 and will feature Rob Gardner conduct his work focused on the death, Atonement, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The even will include soloists Jessie Mueller, Santino Fontana, Joy Woods, Norm Lewis, Anna Zavelson, and Alex Joseph Grayson. The BYU Singers and BYU Concert Choir will also be featured.
In a statement, Gardner said, “Every element of this New York premiere is beyond thrilling — the iconic venue, the exceptional artists, and one of the finest choral programs in the country. ‘Lamb of God’ takes on a life of its own through productions around the world each year, and bringing it to The Metropolitan Opera House is especially meaningful.”
This is the latest non-opera related concert at the Met following concerts by the likes of Kristin Chenoweth and Jon Batiste. This summer, Sting will also present “The Last Ship.”
