
Metropolitan Opera Announces Jon Batiste Concert

The company will showcase the singer two times at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The intimate and masterful concert experience will showcase the Grammy Award winning singer as he seamlessly melds styles at the piano, reinventing his own catalog, including his recent album “Beethoven Blues,” alongside classical music, Black American musical traditions, stream-of-consciousness experimental improvisations, and more.
Batiste is the music director of The Atlantic and the Creative Director of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. He is an Oscar, Golden Globe, and BAFTA Film Award winner. He has been featured in the films “Saturday Night” and “American Symphony,” which records the process of Batiste composing his first symphony.
This is the latest crossover concert that Met showcases following Harry Connick Jr. and Kristin Chenoweth.
