LA Opera Updates COVID-19 Protocols

By Francisco Salazar

The LA Opera has announced new COVID-19 protocols as it resumes live performances.

The company noted that “in alignment with the most recent updates from federal, state and local health officials, LA Opera has updated its temporary vaccination-only policy to include boosters for all eligible attendees. Additionally, the indoor mask mandate has been updated to require two or more layers.”

The company stated that proof of full vaccination, including boosters if eligible, against COVID-19 is required for all adults and children attending all indoor performances and events at LA Opera. Audience members will need to show proof of vaccine on a smartphone or by showing a physical copy of the vaccination card or official vaccination record, along with a government-issued ID, including driver’s licenses and passports.

The company also noted that according to LA City ordinance, children and adults may be exempted from vaccination requirements if they are entitled under any applicable law to a reasonable accommodation for a medical condition or restriction, or a sincerely held religious belief.

The LA Opera also noted that upon arrival to the venue, audience members will be given a wristband that all will be required to wear for the duration of the performance and for your ease in reentering the venue.

Additionally, all audience members will be required to wear a mask with two or more layers, or multiple masks over their nose and mouth while indoors, except while eating or drinking in designated areas.
