Julia Bullock Headlines Boston Modern Orchestra Project’s Opening Season Concert

By Francisco Salazar

Gil Rose, alongside the Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), will open its season with a concert at NEC’s Jordan Hall in Boston, on Nov. 6, 2026.

The concert will feature soprano Julia Bullock in her BMOP debut, weaving poetry and voice in Samuel Barber’s iconic “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” and two movements from Matt Aucoin’s “The No One’s Rose.”

The concert will also world premiere Anthony De Ritis’ “Jiggedy, Jingle, Jaunty, Jaunty,” which pays homage to James Joyce and Luciano Berio through a dialogue that stretches across time. The evening concludes with Charles Wuorinen’s “Delight of the Muses,” a homage to Mozart based on material from “Don Giovanni.”

The showcase kicks off at 7:30 p.m. local time.
