Kurt Weill Foundation for Music Announces Winners of 2025 Lenya Competition

The Kurt Weill Foundation for Music has announced the five winners of the 2025 Lenya Competition.

Taking home the First Prize of $25,000 was George Robarts. Second prize and $20,000 went to Tamara Bounazou. In third was Eleonora Hu of Delft. She got $15,000 to go along with her win.

Queen Hezumuryango and Gemma Nha were each given a $6,000 discretionary award for outstanding performance in an individual selection. The remaining finalists all received $3,000 prizes.

Taking home the Audience Choice Award was Rebecca Madeira, who received $3,000.

In sum, $93,000 was awarded to the 11 finalists.

Audiences are now able to stream the finals via the Kurt Weill Foundation website.
