The Korean National Opera Company is set to present concerts in Spain later this month.

The company’s “Gala Concert” will be held to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Spain. Mirror Hall at Teatro Liceu in Barcelona hosts opera singers Oh Ye-eun, Kim Hyo-joo, Kim Se-rin, Kang Do-ho, Yoo Shin-hee, Kim Won, Jeong Je-hak, and Yoon Hee-seop. They will perform Korean folk songs such as “Longing for Geumgangsan” and “Mountain Village” on May 14, at 7 pm.

Up next is the opera “A Match Made in Heaven.” This concert version will feature the Spanish Millennium Choir and the Spanish Millennium Orchestra, along with musicians from the Korean National Opera Company. This performance will be held at the Monumental Theater in Madrid, on May 18, at 7:30 p.m.

Choi Sang-ho, Artistic Director and Director of the National Opera Company, said in a press release, “I am delighted to be able to introduce “Match Made in Heaven,” which contains the most beautiful moments in life, love and marriage, to Spanish audiences. I ask for your continued interest in the process in which the National Opera Company will continue to promote the originality and diverse charm of Korean art to the world.”
