
Korean National Opera Set for ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ This March
By David SalazarThe Korean National Opera will present “The Marriage of Figaro” at the Seoul Arts Center Opera Theatre from March 20 to 23, 2025.
This is the third time that the company has worked with director Vincent Huguet, following his work in “Così fan tutte” and “Don Giovanni.” David Ryland, the artistic director and chief conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra, will lead the production; he previously conducted productions of “Così fan tutte” and “The Rise and Flal of the City of Mahagonny.”
Pierre Jovanovic will be the stage designer for the production, which will feature a revolving stage and 53 different costumes.
The opera will star Antonio Yang, Dong-Hwan Lee, Michelle Juyoung Hong, Gloria Jieun Choi, Susanna Hyejung Lee, Na Rae Soon, Byung Gil Kim, Stephano Park, Rahel Brede, Sae Lin Kim, Dongho Kim, and Sung Hee Shin.
