/kor/ Productions & Hillman Opera of SUNY Fredonia Present ‘Having Guests for Dinner!’
By David Salazar/kor/ Productions, Hillman Opera of SUNY Fredonia, in collaboration with Western New York Chamber Orchestra will present “Having Guests for Dinner!” on Feb. 18, 2024.
The work by Robert Feng and Nick Bentz explores the story of Marcus and Laura who arrive at their friends’s coworkers dinner party, growing increasingly suspicious that their host is a cannibal.
“I hope people can find a little bit of themselves in each character (well, maybe except the cannibal part) and enjoy the humorously absurd world that Nick and I have crafted,” Feng told OperaWire.
“I hope that audiences can come away from Having Guests for Dinner with an insight into the awkwardness of human interaction, the ways that social manners and mores can shape us against our better judgment, as well as a newfound appreciation for fine dining,” added Bentz.
“Having Guests for Dinner” will star Patrick Connolly, Mia Mandineau, Dan Novak, Dominic Townsend, and Bridgette Turner.
The work received its virtual premiere with New Opera West and this represents the first full-length premiere of the work.
