Keri-Lynn Wilson Receives Major Ukrainian Honor

Keri-Lynn Wilson has been awarded the Order of Princess Olga.
The Ukrainian-Canadian conductor took to social media to announce the news and said, “I’m honored to have been awarded the Order of Princess Olga by President Zelensky on August 23rd for my work supporting Ukraine. Of course, the greatest honor of all will be achieved when Ukraine has won and the country has been rebuilt.”
The Order of Princess Olga is a Ukrainian civil decoration, featuring Olga of Kiev and bestowed to women for “personal merits in state, production, scientific, educational, cultural, charity and other spheres of social activities, for upbringing children in families.” It was established by Presidential Decree № 827/97 of 15 August 1997 and has three grades.
Since the War in Ukraine began, Wilson has been dedicated to the Ukrainian cause and was one of the founders of the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra touring worldwide. Throughout her career, the conductor has appeared at many of the leading opera companies including the Bolshoi Theatre, Metropolitan Opera, Arena di Verona, Zurich Opera, and Bayerische Staatsoper, among others.
