Karina Gauvin & Guadalupe Paz Lead Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería’s Closing Concert
By Francisco SalazarThe Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería is set to close its 2023 summer festival with Mahler’s Symphony No. 2.
The concert, which will be held at the Sala Nezahualcóyotl in Mexico City will see Carlos Miguel Prieto conduct the famous piece. Soloists will include soprano Karina Gauvin and mezzo-soprano Guadalupe Paz. The Coro de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería will be led by choral director Raúl Aquiles Delgado.
The concert will also see violinist Vadim Gluzman perform Bernstein’s Serenade after Plato’s “Symposium.” The concert is set to be performed three times on August 25, 26, and 27, 2023.
The Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería summer season opens on June 21 and will feature a wide program.
