Karina Gauvin Headlines ‘Messiah’ Performance Alongside L’Ensemble Caprice & L’Ensemble Vocal Arts-Québec

L’Ensemble Caprice and L’Ensemble Vocal Arts-Québec will team up with the artist-in-resident of the Mécénat Musica to present excerpts from Handel’s “Messiah” this Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021.

The stream, which will be available on Mécénat Musica’s official website starting at 2:30 p.m. ET, will be headlined by soprano Karina Gauvin. The Grammy-nominated soprano has performed with are Orchestre Métropolitain, Ensemble Caprice, Jeunesses Musicales Canada, Festival Classica, Ensemble Vocal Arts-Québec, Concerts noncerto, Clavecin en concert, Orchestre Symphonique de Laval, Orchestre classique de Montréal, Orchestre Symphonique de Longueuil, Société Pro Musica, Festival international de Lanaudière, Les Violons du Roy, Orchestre Symphonique de Québec, Aramusique (Repentigny), Ladies’ Morning Musical Club, Les Boréades de Montréal, I Musici de Montréal, Montreal Chamber Music Festival and Theater of Early Music, among others.

L’Ensemble Caprice was founded three decades ago and has performed all around the work at such festivals as  Lufthansa Festival of Baroque Music in London, festivals in Bruges (Belgium) and Utrecht (the Netherlands), the Felicia Blumental International Music Festival in Tel Aviv, and, in Germany, the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, the Early Music Days in Regensburg, the Händel-Festspiele in Halle, and the Stockstadt Festival, among many others.

L’Ensemble Vocal Arts-Québec is a major choral ensemble in Québec that was founded over 40 years ago by Yves Courville. The ensemble has performed throughout Canada.
