On Oct. 14, Joyce DiDonato will join The Peace Studio’s ongoing 100 Offerings of Peace campaign.

The mezzo will pay tribute to the late Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in a video tribute performing America the Beautiful. The tribute will include the seldom heard second verse, which speaks to those “who more themselves their country loved” – a fitting description of the late Supreme Court Associate Justice.

The Peace Studio is a nonprofit founded by President Obama’s sister, Maya Soetoro, that works with artists, journalists, and storytellers to advance peace as something more than the absence of war or violence but something built through daily individual actions towards a more just world.

The Peace Studio has been working and is supported by Ambassador Samantha Power, Governor Deval Patrick, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and many others in this effort. The organization recently held a virtual Gala on the UN International Day of Peace, which featured His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, actor Ted Danson, actress Sandra Oh, musician Rhiannon Giddens, and over 40 other participants.
