The Shepherd School of Music at Rice University has announced its 2026-27 season featuring orchestral, chamber, opera, and faculty recitals. Here are the vocal performances.

Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra

Miguel Harth-Bedoya conducts Sasha Cooke in Pierre Jalbert’s “Another Starry Night.” The concert also includes Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5.

Performance Date: Feb. 6, 2027

Shepherd School Opera

The school is set to present Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos” with Christian Reif conducting and Paul Curran directing.

Performance Dates: Oct. 30 & Nov. 1, 2026

The” Bel Canto Opera Scenes” will be accompanied by the Shepherd School Chamber Orchestra and conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya.

Performance Date: Feb. 7, 2027

Matthew Aucoin’s “Eurydice” will make its Texas Premiere with Lina González-Granados conducting and Matt Hune directing.

Performance Date: Apr 16 & 18, 2027

Guest Artist Master Classes & Recitals

Julia Bullock & Friends in Recital at the Morrison Theater.

Performance Date: Oct. 9, 2026 at 7:30pm

Rice University Ensembles

The Rice Chorale will perform.

Performance Date: Sept. 11, 2026 & April 12, 2027
