Joyce DiDonato, Jonas Kaufmann, Diana Damrau, Lise Davidsen & Sonya Yoncheva Lead Palau de la Música Catalana’s 2021-22 Season

The Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona has announced a star-studded 2021-22 season with some of the world’s greatest orchestras, soloists, and choruses.

Here is a look at the vocal and choral performances.

The Cor Lieder Càmera and Josep Vila i Casañasperformworksby Bach, Brahms, Duruflé, Gasull, Morera, Ollé, Vila i Casañas, and Vaughan-Williams.

Joyce DiDonato brings her My Favorite Things concert to Spain with music by Monteverdi, Gluck, Händel, and Purcell. Il Pomo d’Oro and Maxim Emelyanychevjoin the diva.

Cellist Mariona Camats joins Cor de noies de l’Orfeó Català, Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, and Andrés Salado for music by Haydn, Beethoven, Mozart, and Cruixent.

Performance Date: Sept. 25, 2021

Júlia Farrés-Llongueras, David Alegret, and Ketevan Kemoklidze sing music by Migo and Manen. The program also includes music by Grignon and soloists Sergi Pacheco and Kalina Macuta. The Orquestra Simfònica del Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona is conducted by Xavier Puig.

Handel’s “Radamisto” will be performed by Alicia Amo, Emöke Barath, Anna Bonitatibus, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Philippe Jaroussky, Zachary Wilder, and Renato Dolcini. Il Pomo d’Oro is led by Francesco Corti.

The Tallis Scholars, Cor Jove de l’Orfeó Català, and Peter Phillips celebrate the 500th anniversary of Josquin des Prés.

Sara Bañeras and José Ramón Martín perform a program of R. Strauss, Liszt, Charpentier, Ortega, and Toldra. The Trio Orion also performs on the concert.
