Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton is set to perform a recital at LA Opera on Nov. 15.

The mezzo will be joined by pianist Kathleen Kelly at The Wallis in Beverly Hills and it will mark her first appearance with the company since her 2015 LA Opera debut as Adalgisa in “Norma.”

Her recital will include music by Henri Duparc and Clara Schumann and contemporary American works by Libby Larsen and Melissa Dunphy.

Barton is an internationally acclaimed mezzo who advocates for women, LGBTQ+ people and other marginalized communities. In 2013, she became the first woman to win both the Main Prize and Song Prize at the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition. She has also won such honors as the Grammy Award, the Beverly Sills Artist Award, Richard Tucker Award and International Opera Award.
