Jonas Kaufmann has received a special Media Prize at the Österreichischer Musiktheater.

The tenor received the honor at the Awards ceremony on August 2, ahead of his concert on August 3 at the Theater im Park in the Belvedere Palace gardens, in Vienna. The tenor noted that the award “meant a lot” to him. Kaufmann will also perform at the Theater im Park on August 8.

The German tenor is coming off a historical run of performances of “Tosca” at the Teatro Real de Madrid and the Festival Castell de Peralada. He also performed “Tristan und Isolde” at the Bayerische Staatsoper, which was live streamed worldwide.

Kaufmann is set to return to Waldbühne and will make his Arena di Verona debut. He is also set to perform at the Ljubljana Festival and will perform “Tosca” alongside Kristine Opolais in Graz.
