Jonas Kaufmann, Benjamin Bernheim, Joyce DiDonato, Golda Schultz, Liv Redpath & Christian Gerhaher Lead Berlin Philharmonic’s 2025-26 Season

The Berlin Philharmonic has announced its 2025-26 season. Here is a look at the vocal performances.

The Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra under Karina Canellakis takes on the works of Olivier Messiaen, Pierre Boulez, Robin de Raaff, and Sergei Rachmaninoff. Liv Redpath and Netherlands Radio Choir are also featured.

Performance Date: August 31, 2025


The Collegium Vocale Gent, Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, and Philippe Herreweghe perform works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Luigi Cherubini.

Performance Date: Sept. 5, 2025


Les Siècles, Franck Ollu, and Sarah Aristidou perform music by Pierre Boulez.

Performance Date: Sept. 6, 2025


The Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Roma under Daniel Harding will feature Magdalena Kožená in works by Luciano Berio and Claude Debussy.

Performance Date: Sept. 7, 2025


The RIAS Kammerchor and Kaspar Putniņš take on the works of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina and Arvo Pärt.

Performance Date: Sept. 11, 2025


The Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin under Antonello Manacorda will perform works by Toshio Hosokawa and Gustav Mahler. Okka von der Damerau and David Butt Philip are the soloists.

Performance Date: Sept. 16, 2025


The Norrköping Symphony Orchestra under Karl-Heinz Steffens performs works by Leonard Bernstein and Marc Blitzstein. The soloists are Aleksander Nohr, Mari Eriksmoen, Joseph Dennis, Hanna Husáhr, Linard Vrielink, Henning von Schulman, Hongni Wu, and Tzimon Barto.

Performance Date: Sept. 21, 2025


Emmanuelle Haïm conducts Lauranne Oliva and Reinoud Van Mechelen in works by Jean-Baptiste Lully and Jean-Philippe Rameau.

Performance Dates: Oct. 23-25, 2025


Les Arts Florissants and William Christie perform works by Händel alongside soloists Jessica Niles and Shakèd Bar.

Performance Date: Nov. 28, 2025


The Ensemble Artaserse performs alongside Philippe Jaroussky in arias by Antonio Vivaldi, Nicola Porpora, Domenico, and Alessandro Scarlatti.

Performance Date: Nov. 29, 2025


Raphaël Pichon conducts Johann Sebastian Bach’s Mass in B minor, BWV 232 with Nikola Hillebrand, Xenia Puskarz Thomas, Beth Taylor, Emiliano Gonzalez Toro, Huw Montague Rendall, and Christian Immler.

Performance Dates: Dec. 18-20, 2025


The New Year’s Eve Concert will feature Kirill Petrenko conducting Benjamin Bernheim in works by Peter Tschaikowsky, Charles Gounod, Georges Bizet, Jules Massenet, Emmanuel Chabrier, and George Gershwin.

Performance Dates: Dec. 29-31, 2025


Kirill Petrenko conducts Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 featuring Jacquelyn Wagner, Golda Schultz, Liv Redpath, Beth Taylor, Fleur Barron, Benjamin Bruns, Le Bu, and Gihoon Kim.

Performance Dates: Jan. 16 & 17, 2026


Kirill Petrenko conducts Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 featuring Jacquelyn Wagner, Golda Schultz, Liv Redpath, Beth Taylor, Fleur Barron, Benjamin Bruns, Le Bu, and Gihoon Kim.

Performance Dates: March 31 & April 3, 2026 at Salzburg


Daniel Harding conducts Haydn’s “The Creation” with Hanna-Elisabeth Müller, Andrew Staples, and Konstantin Krimmel.

Performance Dates: March 28 & April 5, 2026 at Salzburg 


Kirill Petrenko conducts Wagner’s “Das Rheingold” with Christian Gerhaher, Gihoon Kim, Thomas Atkins, Brenton Ryan, Leigh Melrose, Thomas Cilluffo, Patrick Guetti, Le Bu, Catriona Morison, Sarah Brady, and Jasmin White.

Performance Dates: March 27 – April 1 & 6, 2026 in Salzburg & April 10, 2026 in Berlin


Anna Prohaska joins the Varian Fry Quartett for works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Arnold Schoenberg

Performance Date: April 15, 2026


Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 with Joyce DiDonato, the Ladies of the Rundfunkchor Berlin, and the Boys of the Staats- und Domchors Berlin.

Performance Dates: May 21-23, 2026


Gustavo Dudamel conducts the Ladies of the Rundfunkchor Berlin in a work by Gabriela Ortiz. The program also includes Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3.

Performance Dates: June 18-20, 2026


The end-of-season concert at the Waldbühne will feature Kirill Petrenko and Jonas Kaufmann performing works by Giuseppe Verdi, Ruggero Leoncavallo, Francesco Cilèa, Umberto Giordano, and Ottorino Respighi.
