Afruz Amighi’s new work “within the metamorphosis” will be performed at the Asia Society Museum NYC on April 21.

The multi-media production includes sculpture, poetry, music, dance, and audience participation. Amighi teamed up with vocalist Jennifer Pyron, composer Darius Jamal VanSluytman, and dancers to honor Jina Mahsa Amini’s death in Iran.

Pyron is a versatile vocalist specializing in opera and improvisational styles. VanSluytman electronic compositions have gained recognition from Rolling Stone and Vogue. He was a featured performer in Raz Mesinai’s avant-garde opera “Myth of Nations.”

The one-night-only event will be an addition to Amighi’s current installation “Comparative Hell: Arts of Asian Underworlds.” The event takes place from 7:30 – 9 pm.
