Intermusica, currently celebrating 45 years, announced a major investment from the Mouratoglou family led by Pâris Mouratoglou, a founder and key shareholder in medici.tv.

The investment includes purchasing a majority stake in the company. Stephen Lumsden remains as Chief Executive, while retaining a substantial shareholding, and the company’s board of directors and staff remain unchanged.

Mouratoglou has for decades been one of Europe’s leading philanthropists, supporting major musicians and cultural organizations, including France’s major opera houses. In a press release he said, “EREN Groupe’s mission has always been to support the classical music industry in order to share the pleasure of live classical music at the highest level to the widest possible audience. In this context, I am delighted to be able to invest in one of the world’s leading agencies. I am very much looking forward to a bright future with Stephen and the Intermusica team.”

Lumsden added, “I am delighted to welcome Pâris Mouratoglou to the Intermusica family. This investment will provide many opportunities for future growth and development. It was clear to me from the first moment that Pâris shares our passion for music and our desire to support artists of the greatest distinction. As an innovator and pioneer in green energy, well before it became ‘en mode’, his twin passions around climate change and classical music speak volumes as to his values and ethos. I am delighted to continue as Chief Executive for many years to come and to continue leading our brilliant team of talented staff as we enter a new and exciting chapter in the Intermusica story.”
