Petro Pryimak, soloist of the National Opera of Ukraine, has died at the age of 57.

An honored artist and teacher, Pryimak’s death was announced by Anatoliy Solovyanenko , the chief director of the National Opera, on Facebook.

Born in the Ternopil region, Pryimak was a graduate from the Kyiv Conservatory and was a soloist of the National Opera of Ukraine since 1993.

Over the course of 30 years, he went on to perform in France, Japan, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, and other countries around the world and was a leading figure in Ukraine.

Pryimak also left a number of  radio, television, and CD recordings and also taught vocals at the National Music Academy of Ukraine.
