
Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik Unveils 50th Anniversary Programming

Opening the festival is the workshop concert which features a sneak peak into Ottavio Dantone’s reconstruction of Pietro Antonio Cesti’s “Il pomo d’oro.” This event is presented in a a hybrid format combining elements of concert and rehearsal. The Accademia Bizantina Ensemble performs.

Lauren Lodge-Campbell, Nicolò Balducci, and Jonathan Eyers star in “Dafne.” The soloists perform worked by Jacopo Peri and Marco da Gagliano with Il Gusto Barocco Ensemble.

Anna Bonitatibus and Jörg Halubek present “youngbaroque & masterclass.”

Pietro Antonio Cesti’s “Il pomo d’oro” is presented by the Accademia Bizantina Ensemble with soloists Sophie Rennert, Jone Martínez, Shira Patchornik, Jiayu Jin, Neima Fischer, Mathilde Ortscheidt, Margherita Maria Sala, and Ester Ferraro, among others. NovoCanto also joins. Fabio Ceresa serves as the director, the costume designer is Giuseppe Palella, and the set designer Nikolaus Webern. Ottavio Dantone is the music director.

“A Tribute to Alan” features Anna Bonitatibus with Accademia Bizantina Ensemble. Together they present music by Alessandro Scarlatti, George Frideric Handel, Henry Purcell, Antonio Vivaldi, Francesco Geminiani, and Christoph Willibald Gluck. Ottavio Dantone conducts.

From 21 August 2026, Participants from the 2025 Cesti Competition will bring Handel’s opera “Atalanta” to the stage. François de Carpentries directs. Andrea Buccarella conducts.

Closing out the 50th Innsbrucker Festwochen is the 17th Cesti Competition.
