Indie Opera Productions Announces Major Status Change
By David SalazarIndie Opera Productions has announced its official status as a 501 (c) (3).
The efforts to secure the company’s new nonprofit status were led by Brooke Larimer, Business & Operations Manager and Co-host at Indie Opera.
“Working our way through the Byzantine documentation and planning would be arduous under any circumstances,” Larimer said in an official statement. “But the vagaries of Covid-19 slowed down the process much more than usual. Now that we are on the other side of this hurdle, we are more excited and determined to continue our mission of moving the art form of Opera further into the twenty-first century as we continue to highlight innovative voices in the industry.”
Additionally, “a generous supporter” has stepped forward with a. $2,000 Challenge grant; every dollar donated up to $2,000 before the end of 2020 will be mtached 100 percent.
