The Iași National Opera will present Rossini’s “Stabat Mater” in a new staged format on Oct. 9, with David Crescenzi conducting.

Cristi Avram will direct with soloists including soprano Cristina Grigoraș, mezzo-soprano Florentina Irina Onică, tenor Ștefan von Korch and bass Ivan Dikusar.

“The tenor score in ‘Stabat Mater’ features some of the most demanding and spectacular vocal passages in Rossini’s work; furthermore, the theatrical staging, incorporating actual stage direction, will make this performance both a double challenge and a remarkable experience for the audience,” von Korch said, per an official press release.

The performance kicks off at 6:30 p.m. local time.
