Hui He Announces Chinese Tour

By Francisco Salazar

Hui He has announced a Chinese tour beginning this December.

The soprano announced that her tour will open on Dec. 19 at the Huafa Grand Theatre – Zhuhai Opera House. Hui He will then sing in Shanghai, Nanjing, and Beijing for New Year’s Eve concerts. The soprano will also make stops in Guangzhou, Xi’an, Xiamen, Wuhan, and Suzhou.

In a statement, Hui He said, “We lived a really hard moment, and we can’t say that we have passed entirely from it and without pains. That is why it is so meaningful for me to return to my homeland and sing for my people. I would never want to lose this tradition between me and my homeland’s audience, and I’m looking forward to being on these stages to give with my voice some peace of mind and hope. We, artists, do a job that comes from passion and now more than ever our love for art must serve to send messages of positivity. I feel as an ambassador of opera in China, and I’m proud to bring this wonderful art to the Chinese audience.”

The opera star will perform a program that includes “Vissi d’arte” from “Tosca,” “La mamma morta” from “Andrea Chénier,” “Suicidio” from “La Gioconda” and many more.
